solid but sensitive -metal work by PBJ

This is my first metal work which will be included in the Worlds within Worlds

Exhibition at Bajaj Art Gallery starting for six days from November 7, 2011.

Art curator from Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Art has to say this for this work

"Dear Prakash,
Congratulations on the show. Especially like your sculpture. Don and I each saw different figures in it. He saw a bird and a man and I saw the US post office eagle and a cobra. That is what art is to do - make you think and imagine.
Rohit lets me know when he hears from you,

so you have followers of your art in Las Vegas.

Don and Lynn "

Thanks Don and Lynn for appreciating my work-PBJ .

WORLDS WITHIN WORLDS

One world – we say. But within this there exist so many worlds. Distinct, self sufficient and presumably isolated and unaffected by what goes on in the other worlds. A myriad microcosms – independent, self-sustaining. Till such time that the worlds overlap, collide and impinge on each other.

Worlds of compact eco systems, of close knit communities, of production units, of ordered social systems.

Worlds that form themselves into communities with their own language, expressions and meaning. Worlds that include and, by implication, also exclude. An intonation, a look, the subtle nuance of words that speaks either ‘you are one of us’ or says ‘you do not belong here’. Venn diagrams of exclusion and exclusivity or cooption and community. Holding within themselves a security for all members of the set but also a certain fluidity where that stability is always under challenge from the contradictions within itself and also from external developments.

The many worlds each of us inhabits – professional, personal, cultural and social. Our private world where live our hopes, dreams, fears and passions that often govern what communal world we choose to belong to.

And then the deep world of our subconscious and even deeper, the unconscious that perhaps influence our hopes, fears and desires.

Worlds Within Worlds is an exhibition that presents personal and varied interpretations of and reactions to this theme. We have encouraged loose and wide elucidations of this thought and hope to put them together in this show to see if the juxtaposition of these varied portrayals lead us to interesting and novel tangents on the theme.
